?Discover Boyle?, the rural tourism co-operative located at ?na
Bh?n Tourism, Boyle, Co. Roscommon, is currently recruiting for
a?_Community Rural Tourism Project Officer?_to join our team. We are
based in the grounds of historic King House in Boyle and support rural
tourism in the region as well as facilitating small artisan food
producers to sell their products through our weekly Saturday Courtyard
Market. We also run a craft shop on site, selling on behalf of a
number of local and regional craft makers.

We are looking for someone to join our team who will work with the
three sectors of ?na Bh?n to research, develop and facilitate
training workshops in line with the requirements of our tourism
providers, artisan food producers and craft makers.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Suitable candidates will have experience working in tourism and
community development
* Fully computer competent with social media and website management
skills
* Good interpersonal skills essential
* Practical experience in undertaking research and in implementing
community development initiatives
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
* Excellent communication skills with training delivery an advantage

CRITERIA

This position is supported by the Department of Rural and Community
Development funded by Pobal. Therefore we particularly welcome

JOB DESCRIPTION

The aim and purpose of the Community Rural Tourism Project Officer, is
to clearly define through extensive research, the delivery of
community rural tourism project initiatives in Boyle and County
Roscommon region to promote social economic and development within the
community.

Reporting to the Manager the Community Rural Tourism Project Officer
will:

* Deliver training for a digitalised platform for Social and
community enterprises to upgrade base line IT in local communities.
Research suitable participants for ?na Bh?n to provide a series of
?Digital Training Skills for Citizens? and other topics that
relate to developing and digitising the creative sector and rural
tourism product providers in North Roscommon.
* Compile a database/ directory and document a profile of the
various creative enterprises to be included in the directory of craft
workers.
* Expand the on-line sales system to facilitate local small scale
craft producers.
* Provide and develop one-to-one website content, mobile phone and
Social Media management training.
* Maintain existing website content management system.
* Develop new services that ?na Bh?n Tourism can focus on to
alleviate disadvantage in the local community that can potentially
provide employment for those most distant from the labour market and
can focus on to alleviate disadvantage in the local community
* Propose new marketing initiatives through the use of the internet
and social media and identify and develop new tourism and community
initiatives.
